How-To Create and Manage an e-Mail Account

Creating and managing e-mail accounts will vary depending on which 3Essentials servers your mail is hsoted.   If you do not know your server you can find it by logging into MyAccount and going to Plans.  The server the domain is on is displayed to the right of it.  

LAMP with CPanel

Customers with Shared Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP (LAMP) hosting plans with CPanel

Includes shared hosting servers web11, web13, web17, web19

Customers with Virtual or Dedicated Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP (LAMP) hosting plans with CPanel

LAMP with Plesk 7

Customers with Shared Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP (LAMP) hosting plans with the Parallels Plesk Control Panel 7.x

Includes shared hosting servers web5 and web7

Windows/SmarterMail with Plesk 12

Customers with Shared Windows/IIS hosting plans with SmarterMail and Parallels Plesk Control Panel 12. SmarterMail is the MailServer platform and is hosted on a server separate from your web server.

Includes servers web12, web38, web40, web42, web44, web46, web48

Windows/MailEnable with Plesk 8.x, 7.x, 6.x

Customers with Shared Windows/IIS hosting plans with MailEnable and Parallels Plesk Control Panel 8.x, 7.x, 6.x

Includes servers web4, web8

 

LAMP with CPanel

  • Log into cPanel by following the instructions in the Welcome Email.
     
  • Click Email Accounts icon in the Mail grouping.
     
  • Fill out the email user form at the top of the page.
     
  • Click Create Account.
     
  • Here you can also change passwords for mail accounts
 

LAMP with Plesk 7

  • Log into the Plesk control panell by following the instructions in the Welcome Email.
     
  • Click on the name of the domain for which you wish to create a mailbox.
     
  • Click on the Mail icon.  
     
  • From this page you can create a mailbox. 


NOTE:  Make sure to select the checkbox next to mailbox, otherwise you will not be able to login to the mailbox (you only want to leave the mailbox icon UNCHECKED if you wan to use the mailbox as a simple redirector to another email account).

 

Windows/SmarterMail with Plesk 12

  • You can login directory to the mail server using a mail account with domain admin rights on the mail domain.
     
  • The URL for your mail server will be https://webmailXX.3essentials.com where XX is the same as your web server. For example, if you are hosted on web38, your mail server will be webmail38.3essentials.com
     
  • In your Plesk Control Panel you will also find a button the right side labeled Mail. This button will launch a new browser tab taking you to your mail server.
     
  • Login to the mail server using a mail account with domain administrator rights on the mail domain. If you are not sure what mail account to use, contact our Support Team.

 

Windows/MailEnable with Plesk 8.x, 7.x, 6.x

  • Log into the Plesk control panell by following the instructions in the Welcome Email.
     
  • Click on the name of the domain for which you wish to create a mailbox.
     
  • Click on the Mail icon.  
     
  • From this page you can create a mailbox.
