Question: Can AWStats or Webalizer statistics reporting be customized?

Answer:

• Shared Web Hosting plans
  • The Plesk Control Panel does not support customization of statistics configuration files on a per-domain bases for any current versions of Plesk.
  • Customers may notice under the statistics\webstats\awstats\cgi-bin folder that there is a unique awstats conf file for their domain.  However, this is generated daily based off of single, common AWstats config file used for all domains.   User's ftp accounts actually only have read access to this file to prevent them from attempting to modify it's contents.
  • Currently, 3Essentials only option for implementing customized awstats reporting is a dedicated server plan.
• Dedicated Managed Server Hosting plans
  • Customized awstats changes are permitted as the hardware is dedicated to a single customer.  As our dedicated managed server plans utilize the same Plesk Control Panel implementation, again, a single, common awstats config file is used for all domains.  Any changes made to the awstats config will be applied to all domains.  Also note that the customer assumes all risk resulting from changes from the default configuraiton (i.e., stats not completing successfully or completely erroneously), however 3Essentials will implement requested changes.  Please submit a support request with the details for review and implementation by our team.
• Dedicated UnManaged Server Hosting plans
  • 3Essentials only provides hardware and OS for unmanaged plans, as such, unmanaged server customers wanting website statistics must implement their own solution, and as such can customize to their needs.

Question: Can AWStats be set to keep or remove the query string to the URL in the statistics - for example to differentiate between the URLs of dynamic pages like index.asp?value=something vs index.asp?value=somethingelse?

• Shared Web Hosting plans
  • As noted above, we cannot support custom awstats configurations on shared hosting - this change would require a unique/custom configuration for awstats.  Additionally, this funcitonality significantly increases resource consumption by the awstats engine, and as a result, is not suitable for shared webhosting.
• Dedicated Managed Server Hosting plans
