If attempting to use the INTO OUTFILE or LOAD DATA INFILE functionality in MySQL, you will receive access denied errors... this is because for this function your dbuser id is required to have the MySQL "FILE" permission,
3Essentials does not enable the FILE permission on MySQL database users on our shared hosting due to inherent security concerns resulting from this. If you're attempting to install a product which requires this we refer you to the vendor/developer/community for an alternative solution or recommend upgrading to one of our dedicated server hosting plans, where we will enable this permission.
We can enable this on dedicated server hosting plans at customer request, as the hardware is dedicated to a single customer, and therefore that customer assumes all the risk associated with this change. Note, we do not recommend this for our dedicated server customers who are reselling/rehosting their own services to multiple customers. We recommend enabling this only if the dedicated server is used by only a signle customer/organization. |
