Some versions of SmarterMail have a compatibility issue with Firefox 6 and 7.
When attempting to create a new email or to reply to an email in Firefox 6 you will see HTML in the response area. When attempting to create a new email or to reply to an email in Firefox 7 you will not see the HTML toolbar and will also see HTML in the response area.
A new email window shows two line break HTML tags followed by a blinking cursor. A reply to an existing email literally fills the response area with raw HTML code and makes it impossible to read the original message.
This issue does not happen with the current versions of Chrome or Internet Explorer. To fix this in Firefox 6 or 7 change the "Compose Format" to "Text" in the account settings for your email account. This will disable HTML formatting in Firefox. SmarterMail is aware of this issue, but has no plans for addressing this for these versions. Our current recommendation is to switch to another browser, such as Chrome or IE, to access web mail if you are hosted on the following servers: Web26, Web24, Web20, Web18, Web12
