Unified Messaging: How to create a new email user

  1. Log in to the SmarterMail web interface as a mail domain administrator.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the Domain Settings folder.
  4. Click Users.
  5. Click New in the content pane toolbar.
  6. In the Username field, type the desired username.
  7. In the Password and Confirm Password fields, type the password for this account. Be sure to type the same password each time.  ​Password complexity requirements are:
    • at least 10 characters total
    • includes at least one of each of the following: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number and symbol
  8. In the Display Name field, type the name that will appear on outgoing messages.
  9. Enter a Reply-To Email Address, if desired.
  10. In the Time Zone field, select the appropriate time zone from the list.
  11. Select additional options (domain administrator access, activesync, etc, per your personal preferences)
  12. Click Save.
