How-To: Create or Manage Databases and Database users

This article describes how to create a database using the Plesk Control Panel. You can also create your database user id (uid) and reset its password if you need to change it.

Login to your Plesk Control Panel

Find your domain

On the right hand side you will see a Databases link

Select Add New Database

On the next page fill in the database name,, the type of database will be either MySQL or MSSQL. You will also need to create a database user and give it a password. The user can be any string of characters. The password generator can be used to create the password. If you use the Show button it will display the password so that you can use it to configure your application.

Hit OK and the database is now created.

The manage the database uid at any time, such as to reset its password or even rename it, you can do so from the Databases page. Just select the Users tab.

Here you can manage the database uid.
