Symptom: Can't delete folders (either from Plesk or Windows) that end with a "." (period/dot)
When attempting to delete, plesk generates an error similar to this:
Unable to remove file /httpdocs/foldername.: filemng rm -rf failed:
Unable to read directory (E:\inetpub\vhosts\domain.com\httpdocs\foldername.\): (3) The system cannot find the path specified..
Resolution:
This is due to a flaw in the Plesk control panel's filemanager folder creation utility that allows a folder ending in "." to be created... unfortunately, Windows doesn't support this (though it allows Plesk to create it). Once it's created, the operating system will not allow it to be deleted.
Our engineering team has a method for removing these folders; please submit a support ticket referencing this KB article, and tell us where in your directory structure the folder is which needs to be removed. Please note, our only way to remove the folder is to REMOVE IT ENTIRELY AND DELETE ALL OF IT'S CONTENTS. So be sure you want the folder and all of it's contents removed before you request this.
Also, if possible, please refrain from creating folders ending in a "." in the future.
