For those customers on our servers using SmarterMail as the mail/webmail solution, you'll find the default configuration does not activate the "save sent items" feature, and you need to enable this for each mail account.  To do so:

  1. have your webmail user log into their webmail interface (http://webmail.yourdomain.com where yourdomain.com = your domain name)
  2. click SETTINGS > MY SETTINGS
  3. Click on the COMPOSE tab
  4. check the box for SAVE COPY OF REPLIES IN SENT ITEMS FOLDER, and click the SAVE icon above.
    • Important note: If checked, all messages you send from the web interface will get saved in the Sent Items folder. If you send many messages, you may need to regularly delete items from the sent items folder.  Also be sure to delete from your DELETED ITEMS folder... your total mailbox size includes all items in Inbox, Folders, Sent Items and Deleted Items...  when in your INBOX, notice the mailbox size and fullness indicator in the top right.  Once your mailbox is full, no new messages will be accepted.  Be sure to keep your mailbox clean to allow new mail.  Users with Control Panel login access can access the mail management interface, which allows for the adjustment of mailbox sizes for each user's individual mailbox.
