3Essentials currently provides MySQL 5 hosting on it's newest hosting plans for customers looking to utilize the new features of MySQL 5.  You will find Mysql 5 on web18, web20, web22.

Although the Plesk control panel currently supports MySQL 5, it doesn't "completely" support all the new features.  Please see the following notes for important additional information:

  • stored procedures and views: by default, when you create a new database user for your mysql 5 database, Plesk does not enable the necessary privileges for stored procedures and views.  Our support team can quickly add these for you if you require use of stored procedures and views.  Please submit a support request identifying the domain, database, and database user, and specify you need privs added for stored procedures and views.
  • triggers: The current version of Plesk is currently not supporting a MySQL version after 5.1.6.  This is important because prior to MySQL 5.1.6, you need SUPER privs in order to create and execute triggers. After 5.1.6, more granular privilege controls were added to allow these privs to be assigned to a single user on a single database.   As such, we currently cannot support triggers until Plesk releases an update to support a MySQL 5.1.6 version or higher, so that we can enable these privs in a manner properly secure for a shared hosting solution
    • for dedicated server customers, we can possibly provide this feature if you are interested.  Please contact support for details.
