This article will explain how customers with our Linux-Reseller hosting plans can use cPanel's WebHost Manager to create additional cPanel control panel accounts for their reseller customers:

  • If you are unfamiliar with the difference between the cPanel Control Panel and WebHostManager interfaces, we strongly recommend you review the following article first: cPanel Basics: Reseller accounts
  • If you are unsure if you have a Linux Reseller hosting plan, please contact our billing or support department.

To create additional cPanel control panel accounts:

  1. Log into your WebHostManager interface/website
  2. on the navigation pane on the left side, find the section labelled ACCOUNT FUNCTIONS, and click CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT
  3. on the CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT page:
    • enter the domain name
    • enter the username for that control panel account... it will be able to log into the cPanel Control Panel only, and be able to manage just this domain only.
    • enter the password
    • enter the email address you want associated with that control panel account
      • Note: 3Essentials will not contact that email address.
      • 3Essentials ONLY sends communications regarding your hosting to the primary email address listed under your 3Essentials Customer information, accessible at http://www.3essentials.com/myaccount.asp
    • select a package (a package defines limits for disk space, bandwidth, email accts, databases, etc, and can be created under the PACKAGES area found in the left-hand navigation pane)
    • select DNS options applicable for your domain... if you're unsure, the most common scenario is to leave the "use the nameservers..." box UNCHECKED, which will leave the domain's nameserver records pointing to our nameservers: ns1.3essentials.com and ns2.3essentials.com.
    • click CREATE.
  4. WebHostManager  will create the domain, AND the cPanel username/password which your customer can use to manage that domain via the cPanel Control Panel.
